I photograph businesses that make things. Builders, fitout companies, joinery and fabrication workshops around Canberra and across Australia.

I came to this from architecture photography. Five years of learning how buildings go together and how light moves through them, work that's been published twice, including two covers. It's the same eye, pointed at the details instead of the buildings.

What I noticed on every one of those projects was the gap between how good the work is and how badly it gets recorded. A workshop at seven in the morning is one of the best-looking rooms in the city, and almost nobody has photographed one properly.

So that's what I do. I turn up for a few hours, work around you, and leave you with images you can use.
